On a travelling book tour
Each year kids in Vermont, grades 4 to 8, are encouraged to read books from a list of 30 titles. In April, kids throughout Vermont vote on their favorite title, & the book that receives the most votes is the winner of the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award. Here follows the list for 2007/08. Who is Dorothy Canfield Fisher?
Dorothy Canfield Fisher (1879-1958) was a very busy author who published a lot of books for adults and children from the early 1900s through the 1950s. She lived in Vermont but her books were popular worldwide!

Wow! Salt is not a subject I would ever have thought to read about, but I challenged myself to read all 30. I loved it! It is a quick read that is jam packed with really cool facts. I had no idea salt was so important. The history is amazing! This book makes me want to find more interesting non-fiction. (This is a genre I normally do not enjoy.) Everyone should give this one a try.
salt is veary interesting it is a very good book and i learned a lot from salt.
i read salt last year and it was a good book. i never knew salt and oil came from the same thing.

salt was pretty cool, but it wasn't as good as some of the others. it was better than another one i can think of though!!!!
the story of salt was very good. i did not know that you make salt from salt rocks, i did not know there was even salt rocks!
Salt was a great book. It was better than the story about rats.

The story of Salt is an awesome book for people that like to learn.
This book was so interesting. This was the DCF book Ilearned the most from. I used to thing salt was just salt, but it not just white stuff we put on are food and is in the ocean, it's SALT a amazing thing. GREAT BOOK.
I don't think that it was that good a book because it was just
not... fun. I expected it to be more than just facts and so this was not my favorite book by far.

I think this is a good book because it taught me were salt came from and what it is made out of.If you like storys and laening I recamend you read this.
Salt is a very good Book because it taught me a lot about salt and where it came from and how it became. I loved it a lot it was very interesting and tells the story of salt!!!!!
i love salt but this book made me fall asleep. do me a favor and DESTROY the book.
