Each year kids in Vermont, grades 4 to 8, are encouraged to read books from a list of 30 titles. In April, kids throughout Vermont vote on their favorite title, & the book that receives the most votes is the winner of the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award. Here follows the list for 2007/08. Read some or read them all. Post your thoughts here!

Dream-Makers Magic is supposed to be unique with a mix of magic and reality. For me it was kind of like green on red. You know how green on red just don't mix? Well this book couldn't get the two to mix, I never knew if I whether it was a fantasy or realistic fiction.
The way it was written was good but the two themes clashing together just didn't work.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Of course, I read the other two books by Shinn before I read this one, so that may have helped. There were some facts about court and village life, but the fantasy prevailed. I loved the idea of a travelling Dream-Maker who made some dreams come true.
are class is doing a dcf unit and i read this book and loved it i think it was my second favorite i would recamend it to everybody but mostly for girls
I loved this book.I normally dont like fantasy books but since it was a dcf I picked it up and was so glad. its coolhow it tells her life even though its in a series.
I read this book for a partner read and I thought it stunk. It takes too long to get to the good parts of the book, and even the "good" parts were mostly booring.
i loved the book they're awesome i love gryffin and kellen
i like the books also, read keturah and lord death they are just as good as the dream makers magic i love both books read them
