I am reading this book now and am enjoying the way the author moves from the present, to the past, and back again. The mystery and suspense is making this a hard book for me to put down!

So far, I think that Black Duck is one of the most exciting books of this year's list! It's got mystery, adventure, danger, sadness. Before I read this, One Handed Catch was my favorite, but now I like this one too.

This was a great book to listen to as well!

Black Duck was one of the best books this year. The balance of mystery and adventure is great. This book has very well developed characters and a very advanced and detailed plot and setting.

I think that the Black Duck was one of the Best books that I have read in a while. And it really made me want to read it again and it was really good because it made want to read it when ever I got the chance and there are not a lot of books that can do that.

I really liked this book, I didn't want to put it down! I read it within two days and that only happens if the book is really good. It had great description, the author descibed everything in full detail and really painted a picture in my mind. There was great adventure and mystery. It always keeps you on your toes and right when you think you are going to figure it out, it turns in the other direction. This book had caught my attention by the title and the blob on the back, but I didn't think I was going to like it when I heard what it was about, but I loved it!! If you like adventure, people that are sneeky, and a whole lot of mystery then you won't want to put this book down. You should pick this book up and start reading right away and you will be amazed.

I agree with one of the other anonymouses, except it was just the opposite for me. One-Handed Catch is now my favorite, but
Black Duck is definitely my second fav.

Black duck is a great book because you can learn information about rumrunners and other things that have to do with when liquor was illegal. Black Duck was exciting because so many thing were happening at one time and no one is supposed to do what they are doing. It also is very descriptive.

This book was boring to me I started it and it just was not good writing in my opinion. But for others I think this could be a good book.

Really loved this book! I read it to my students, and they loved it too! Historical fiction is one of my favorites anyway and I love to share my love of this genre with my kids.

Thanks for this website!

A wonderful book, which I would never think I would want to read by the cover. That's why you should never judge a book by its cover. So far this is in my top 3 books I've read. This is because it is very descriptive. Yet there is a lot of adventure and suspense. It kept me hooked the whole time!

I loved this book because I love historical fiction. I think it is very important and interesting to know about history and the changes our country has been through.

I thought this book was great. The way Janet Taylor Lisle made it in the form of an interveiw.the amount of detail that was in the book gave me mental pictures. It was very intresting to me because the police would bail on there jobs for money. so rumrunners wouldn't go to jail and illegal stuff would continue.

stupid the worst book ever a waste of my life

Would you care to share, Anonymous, why you thought this book was a waste of your life?
Can you imagine your own reaction if you found a dead body washed up on shore? There was a lot of danger and suspense during the Prohibition days.
